Timor-Leste celebrates important victory against Mongolia

One of the youngest teams adhering to FIFA (joined in last year of 2005) Timor-Leste’s football team, has just obtained an important a victory by the minimum result against Mongolia team.

Repeating the triumph of the 12th March (in this time Timor-Leste won the selection Mongol 4-1, in Dili), the Timorese team have the dreams to get the classification to the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The early goal of Patrick Alves (9 minutes) allows the selection dream of the possibilities to obtain the classification.

With a young team , the Timor-Leste football selection has some Brazilian players, naturalized Timorese, who helped the group overcome this first challenge. It is also commanded by a Brazilian coach, Fabio Magrão.

Timor-Leste in the 17th Asian Games

Once more, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) launches the main sports event that already counts with 16 editions – The Asian Games.

This year will be the 17th Asian Games, taking place at Incheon, South Korea from September 19th to October 4th.
The Asian Games was first held in India in 1951 and for the 4th time Timor-Leste will be representing with 33 skilled and professional athletes from boxing, taekwondo, athletics, beach volleyball, weightlifting, cycling road and moutain bike, football and karate.

The official slogan remains intact – “Diversity Shines Here” – highlighting the significance of Asia’s wonderful diversity in history, cultures and religions of the 45 countries and regions that will participate in 36 sports, disputing more than 1300 medals.

2014 AFF Futsal Championship
