Balibo Fort Hotel sits within the walls of the Portuguese fort above Balibo village, in Bobonaro municipality, about two and a half hours’ drive west of Dili and close to the Indonesian border. It has eight rooms with air conditioning, hot showers and Wi-Fi, a licensed restaurant, and a cultural and heritage centre. From the terraces you look over the fort walls towards the sea.
The hotel is run as a social enterprise in partnership with the Balibo House Trust, providing local jobs and hospitality training.
