Beloi Beach Hotel Dive Resort is a small hotel on the beach at Beloi, on the east coast of Atauro. It has 8 rooms and 2 two-bedroom villas, a bar-restaurant with sea views, and air-conditioned rooms. Stays are sold as packages with meals included, and the hotel can arrange diving, snorkelling, fishing, hikes and boat trips to quieter beaches.
The official tourism site gives a rate of around US$190 a night with three buffet meals, and notes that maintenance, water pressure and the supply of food and drinks can be inconsistent. Confirm what is included when you book.
Getting there
The hotel runs its own motor boats across the strait on demand. They leave from the Marine Police compound (UPM) on the Dili waterfront, next to Largo de Lecidere. The hotel does not publish a timetable or fares, so ask when you book. The cheaper alternative is the APORTIL government ferry, which takes about 2¼ to 3 hours to Beloi pier.
