Excelsior Resort Hotel is a long-established hotel in western Dili, close to the Timor Plaza shopping centre and the beach. It has air-conditioned rooms, an outdoor pool, a restaurant and free laundry. The official tourism site notes clean rooms and helpful staff, but also dated facilities, weak mobile signal indoors, mosquitoes and variable breakfasts.
It is a short drive from the airport and from the shops, supermarket and ATMs at Timor Plaza.
