Manukoko Rek is a guesthouse and restaurant in Vila Maumeta, a village on Atauro’s south coast, a short walk from the beach. Rooms are thatched huts in a garden of frangipani and mango trees, some with shared bathrooms and some with private ones, with fans and mosquito nets. Breakfast is included.
The kitchen cooks Italian dishes alongside Timorese food, including fresh pasta, gnocchi and pizza. Order lunch and dinner in advance. The guesthouse is next to the Biojoia and Boneca de Ataúro handicraft workshops.
