Maria Diamantina Martins Homestay is a family-run homestay in Aileu, in the cooler hills about an hour’s drive south of Dili on the road to Maubisse. It has basic bungalows with a choice of a twin room (two single beds) or a double room, and shared or private bathrooms. Home-cooked meals are included.
The official tourism site describes it as rustic and ageing, with patchy electricity, and best for travellers who are happy with a simple village stay. It is a budget option.
