Marobo Hot Springs is a natural attraction, not a business or tour operator: a set of geothermal pools in a green valley in the mountains of Bobonaro municipality, in western Timor-Leste.
Getting there
- The springs are reached by motorbike or 4WD from Maliana or Balibo, according to the official tourism site. The last part of the road is rough, so a 4WD with a local driver is the easiest option.
- Most visitors combine the springs with the fort and memorials at Balibo on a two-day trip west of Dili. Don’t drive mountain roads after dark; see getting around Timor-Leste.
Before you go
- There is no published entry fee, opening hours or contact. Facilities on site are basic or absent, so bring water, food and a towel.
- In the wet season (roughly November to April) mountain roads can be cut by landslides; ask locally about conditions.
- Tour operators in Dili can arrange the trip; see the official tourism site’s operators directory.
